BENTONVILLE (KFSM) — The Benton County Sheriff’s Office will be increasing security at the jail’s recreation yard after an inmate briefly escaped Tuesday (May 1) before being recaptured, according to Sgt. Shannon Jenkins, sheriff’s office spokeswoman. FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — A federal appeals court says a former athlete at the University of Arkansas who reported being raped by another student can continue her lawsuit against the school. (AP) — In a story April 30 about a cancelled speech by a U.S. State Department official, The Associated Press, relying on a spokesman for Casper College, erroneously reported the reason the speech was cancelled. A spokesman for the U.S. State Department said the speech was cancelled due to a scheduling conflict, not because Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had frozen all scheduled appearances by department staff.
