BOONE, N.C. - The Ball State field hockey team (7-8, 4-2 MAC) suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 double overtime loss in Mid-American Conference action at App State (10-5, 4-2 MAC) Friday night at Brandon & Erica M. Adcock Field.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan field hockey team fell on Friday to Mid-American Conference leader Miami (Ohio), 6-0, at Cristy Freese Field.

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond field hockey team fell to No. 20 Massachusetts, 2-1, Friday afternoon in Atlantic 10 Conference action at Crenshaw Field.

Philadelphia, PA – The No. 14 Old Dominion Field Hockey team extended their win streak to seven games with a 2-0 win over Temple on Friday. Delphine Le Jeune and Marlon de Bruijne scored the goals in the victory. The win also marks the third straight shutout giving ODU six clean sheets on the year.

Just over halfway into the second quarter of No. 2 Maryland field hockey’s top-five showdown against No. 5 Penn State, Nittany Lion junior forward Sophia Gladieux sprinted out in transition looking for her team’s fourth consecutive goal. Gladieux used her body to shun the defender away before ultimately sending a rocket into the left side of the cage.

Maryland field hockey’s backfield was arguably its greatest strength through 15 games this season. The unit frequently stifled opposing offenses, allowing more than three goals in a game just once.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Top-ranked North Carolina scored three times before halftime on the way to a 3-1 field hockey win over No. 7 Virginia Friday afternoon in the Tar Heels' final home game of the Atlantic Coast Conference season.

Western Jaguars will host second-placed Kenya Police in a top-of-table affair Kenya Hockey Union Premier League match set to be played at Eregi TTC in Kakamega from 2pm on Saturday.

Watsonians and Grange sit at the top of their respective leagues but after only five rounds of matches there is a long way to go in the race for the title.

We need the crowds to boost domestic product

It’s often been said that one of the many reasons for the lack of attendances at top level domestic hockey, since the turn from grass to astro, is down to the fact that many can’t watch due to playing at different times on a weekend or away on the road.

It's all eyes on the men's Premier Division this weekend as league hockey across the country takes a break for the school half-term. As well as some cup matches, the Premier League is the only place to get your hockey fix, with all games being played on Saturday. Last held in 2017, hockey India asks world body for a suitable window to host the franchise-based league again.
