Juvenile arrested following crash involving stolen car in Manchester
A juvenile was arrested in Manchester this week in connection with a crash involving a stolen car.
Officers in the evening hours Monday were dispatched to the area of Hilliard Street and Electric Street for a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a car stolen from Newington and suspects who fled the scene, according to the Manchester Police Department.
Police said three suspects fled the vehicle that was involved and headed north on Electric Street on foot. Officers set up a perimeter in the area and, as they did, three males were seen walking along a nearby wooded area. The suspects fled upon spotting a police officer, police said.
Officer Danielle Hebert and K-9 Enzo began tracking the suspects, finding one of them in an alleyway, according to police. The suspect, identified as a juvenile, was taken into custody without incident, police said. He was reportedly found with a key fob for the vehicle that was reported stolen in Newington.
Manchester police said the juvenile has been identified as a “known offender with prior arrests related to stolen motor vehicles and a kidnapping charge.”
“Additionally, this individual has been linked to criminal activities involving firearms and has been a suspect in various motor vehicle thefts,” Manchester police Lt. Ryan Shea said in a statement.
The investigation into the case remains ongoing. Anyone with information has been asked to contact Manchester police at 860-645-5500.
