According to Bailey, several factors can contribute to hair thinning and some of them are “out of our control.”
You don’t get a say in how genetics, menopause, and pregnancy affect your body.
“Both pregnancy and menopause cause a major shift in hormones, which impacts the rate at which hair grows and falls out,” she explained.
On the flip side, some elements that may be within our control are diet, hair treatment, and stress.

“It’s worth talking to a doctor if you’re concerned about excessive hair loss,” Bailey said.

They can “damage the hair” and cause thinning around the hairline.
Also, she said to steer clear of box dye kits and opt for a certified professional who is familiar with hair dyes.
The harsh chemicals in the at-home kits can leave hair brittle and prone to breakage.
FAKING FULLNESS
For those looking to disguise their thin hair to look fuller, Bailey has a few tricks up her sleeve.
According to the expert, the way you cut and style your hair can make a big difference.
Next time you’re getting a trim, consider a layered hairstyle to “add volume and texture to thinner hair.”
“The combination of a voluminous blowout and volumizing hair products can also give the illusion that hair is thicker,” Bailey added.
She has a specific method to achieve greater volume.
“Be sure to blow dry the roots with a round brush to give them an extra lift,” she explained.
As a hair extension specialist, Bailey recommended them for a “more long-lasting impact.”
“Hair extensions aren’t just for length. They are ideal for making hair look fuller,” she explained.
“Extensions can be seamlessly blended with your natural hair texture and color to create hair that looks naturally voluminous.”
