Service disruptions on Metro-North and LIRR during morning commute
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Service on the Long Island Rail Road and the Metro-North is delayed during the Thursday morning rush hour commute, according to the MTA's website.
Commuters on the LIRR Babylon Branch may experience delays and cancellations on trains heading to and from Grand Central and Penn Station, the MTA's website shows.
The issues come as a result of a person being struck by a train at the Amityville station.
Meanwhile, the Metro-North New Haven Line experienced delays of up to 60 minutes because of earlier signal issues between East Norwalk and Stamford, the transit agency says.
Customers are advised to check the LIRR and Metro-North websites for cancellation alerts and service alternatives.
