Woman critically injured in Larnaca accident
The police are investigating the cause of an accident on Sunday in Larnaca, in which a 66-year-old woman was critically injured.
The accident happened at around noon on Sunday on Yiannos Kranidiotis avenue, when a car driven by a 70-year-old man with his 66-year-old wife as a passenger collided with a car driven by a 40-year-old, with his wive, 45, and their two children, eight and four, as passengers.
The police said that after the crash the 40-year-old’s car hit a nearby electricity pylon.
The 66-year-old was trapped in the car and the fire brigade was called to release her.
All six people were taken to Larnaca general hospital by ambulance.
The 66-year-old was intubated and transferred to Nicosia general hospital in critical condition.
The 45-year-old woman who suffered a leg injury, as well as her husband and youngest child, are still in hospital for observation.
The 70-year-old and eight-year-old were treated and discharged.
