Vazgen Sargsyan would be proud of our military’s achievements today – defense minister
If not the October 27 tragedy in parliament, Vazgen Sargsyan would be alive today and feel pride for the great achievements in our army and country, Armenia's minister of defense said Friday.
Speaking to reporters at the military pantheon Yerablur, Vigen Sargsyan also condemned the deadly terror attack which claimed the life of the great military leader and former prime minister along with other government officials and senior parliament representatives and other legislators.
“It is difficult to say what would change now, but terrorism is a great blow to any country. Unfortunately, a state as young as ours wasn't able keep away all that,” he added.
Asked who was after all interested in the high-profile tragic incident, the minister refrained from specific comments. “I think it is for investigators and [law enforcement] bodies to resolve any crime. October 27 had such a phase – with its ups and downs – and I have no grounds at all to distrust our judiciary’s evaluations,” he added.
