Armenian Church needs new regulations immediately after removal of  Ktrich Mkrtchyan - premier 

ArmInfo.  It is crucial that the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC) begin developing and adopting a new charter immediately following the removal of Ktrich Nersisyan  (Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin B - ed.) and the election of a  locum tenens. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this  in a video message on his Facebook page.

According to him, this charter will enshrine clear and specific rules  accessible and understandable not only to the clergy but also to the  public, meaning they will be publicly available. "This will allow  everyone to clearly understand the norms and values by which the AAC  lives, as well as the mechanisms for public and internal oversight of  their observance," Pashinyan said.

He noted that this agenda has essentially been officially established  by Holy Etchmiadzin itself.  Specifically, in November 2011, the  Prime Minister continued, the Armenian Ministry of Justice registered  that a charter for the AAC-a constitution-would be developed in the  near future.

"What do we have in practice? Twelve years after Ktrich Nersisyan  assumed the post of Catholicos, a full- fledged charter for the AAC  has still not been drafted. Moreover, another 14 years have passed  since the document's registration in 2011. This clearly reflects the  real state of affairs in the AAC during Ktrich Nersisyan's  leadership," the Prime Minister emphasized.
