Civil Contract deputy: Nothing to impede peace process and unblocking of Armenia
ArmInfo. The issue of Armenia's complete unblocking will be resolved. Artur Hovhannisyan, Secretary of Armenia's ruling Civil Contract faction, expressed this viewpoint at a briefing on February 16, in response to reporters' questions about Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's assertion that the "Crossroads of Peace" project is not being considered in talks.
Recall that Aliyev had previously noted that, regardless of the strategic partnership agreement signed between Armenia and the United States, there is no "Crossroads of Peace." Moreover, the Azerbaijani president ironically emphasized that as long as Trump is president, TRIPP will continue. "So, when Biden comes back, he will relaunch your Crossroads of Peace," Aliyev stated.
In this regard, Artur Hovhannisyan noted that Armenia has clear agreements and signed documents regarding the "Crossroads of Peace" initiative project within the framework of investment programs. "Therefore, I would not like to comment on Aliyev's words; I am willing to comment on our steps and actions. They show that, to some extent, the country's transport communications have already been unblocked and work is underway to fully unblock them, especially considering the logistical solutions that are already in place," the MP said.
He emphasized that while there may be various comments and wishes, the most important factor is the actions taken by the country's authorities in this regard. "Armenia is pursuing a very successful foreign policy, as evidenced by the visit of US Vice President J.D. Vance, who addressed many issues. The current events show that nothing will hinder the peace process and the unblocking of Armenia," Artur Hovhannisyan emphasized.
