Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan`s house arrest replaced with administrative supervision and travel ban
ArmInfo.The Primate of the Aragatsotn Diocese, Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, has been released from house arrest. He has been placed under administrative supervision and travel restrictions.
According to the court's ruling, he is prohibited from visiting the residence of the Aragatsotn Diocese, communicating with diocesan clergy, and any other figures involved in the criminal case.
Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan is charged with two counts: obstructing electoral rights by abusing his official position and coercing participation in meetings through the use of his office. He was arrested for two months on October 16, 2025, and on January 26, 2026, the term was extended for another month. On February 12, 2026, the arrest was replaced by house arrest. Mkrtich Proshyan is the nephew of the Catholicos of All Armenians.
