Another nationwide rally takes place on Republic Square: speakers call for fight for national identity
ArmInfo. Another nationwide anti-government rally is taking place on Republic Square in Yerevan, the main slogan of which is the resignation of the authorities for the sake of preserving the national identity and dignity of the nation.
Bagrat Srpazan, who opened the rally, noted that this is not a
struggle for power, not a party fight, but a national movement that
is aimed at stopping the destruction of the country, physical, moral
and spiritual destruction. According to him, the leaders of the
movement advocate reconciliation, and the authorities show their
extreme aggressiveness and throw mud at those who have come out to
fight, without mincing words. He said that today numerous students
had joined the protest movement.
Diplomat, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ruben
Karapetyan addressed the numerous citizens gathered in the main
square of the country. He noted the importance of the fact that the
national liberation movement is led by the Armenian Apostolic Church,
which now, like as hundreds of years ago, has undertaken the mission
of protecting the people during catastrophic crises. "But this is not
a church movement, and although we are told that this is a movement
for war, I do not agree, this is a movement for peace, a dignified
peace. We are a peace-loving people, and we must fight for our
dignity, without which we will not be respected in the world.
Therefore, we must free ourselves from the government, which
constantly lies and engages in manipulation, which intends to deprive
the Armenian people of dignity and national identity to please our
enemies. If the authorities do not respect their people and their
country, then no one abroad will respect us or trust us," Karapetyan
noted.
The rally continues and by its end the organizers will announce their
further actions. In the meantime, the motto "Armenians, Armenia,
Motherland and God" continues to sound in the square.
