Membership of Penitentiary Service of Ministry of Justice of Armenia in EuroPrice was adopted unanimously
ArmInfo.The Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia has
officially joined EuroPris (European Organization of Prisons and Correctional Institutions). This was stated in the press release of the press service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of
Armenia.
According to the source, the head of the Penitentiary Service,
Colonel of Justice Ambakum Grigoryan submitted an application to the
president of the organization for admission to membership in the
organization. In the application, Grigoryan presented the current
state of the Armenian service, plans and directions of the planned
reforms, as well as expectations from joining the organization.
The board of directors of <EuroPris> unanimously adopted the
application for the Penitentiary Service of the Republic of Armenia
to join the organization.
Penitentiary authorities of 39 member states of the Council of Europe
region are members of the organization, which have established a wide
network of exchange of best practices. Membership in EuroPris will
provide the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of the
Republic of Armenia with a number of advantages, including the
opportunity to establish international contacts between specialists,
provide access to EPIS (European Prison Information System) and KMS
(Knowledge Management System), active participation in expert groups.
