St. Louis police are investigating an overnight shooting at a building in the city's downtown area. All the victims were teenagers.

CBS News' Catherine Herridge, Caitlin Huey-Burns and Nikole Killion join Robert Costa to discuss the charges against former President Donald Trump, how the Republican party is reacting and what could come next in the investigations into the former president.

Bill Barr, who served as attorney general under former President Donald Trump, tells "Face the Nation" that the former president is a "consummate narcissist" who "constantly engages in reckless conduct that puts his political followers at risk and the conservative political agenda at risk." While Trump has not yet been convicted of a crime or what a possible sentence would be, Barr said "I don't like the idea of a former president serving time in prison."

Secretary of State Antony Blinken has traveled to China after his last trip was scuttled after a spy balloon from China was shot down over the U.S. Blinken met with Chinese foreign minister Qin Gang, a close ally of President Xi Jinping. The U.S.' goal is to open channels of communication to avoid a military clash.

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who is running for president in 2024, said former President Donald Trump could be in "severe legal trouble" if the "indefensible" conduct alleged in his federal indictment is true.

In 2018 Steve Hartman met Ben Taylor, who had befriended a supposed scam artist messaging him from Liberia. Eventually, Taylor found a way to help that man help himself and his community. Recently Taylor received another message from Cameroon asking for money. And once again, Ben looked beyond what was apparently a scam, and found someone to help.

"It's worse because it's a more difficult problem set," Trump national security adviser H.R. McMaster said.
