The University of Chicago is preparing to “intervene” to remove the pro-Palestine encampment from the school’s Main Quadrangle, president Paul Alivisatos said Friday, claiming student protestors have created a “systemic disruption” on campus. Serial Chicago con man Joey Cipolla was sentenced to nine years in federal prison Friday for what the judge called “an extraordinarily large amount” of schemes to cheat people out of money. A male body pulled from the Calumet River last Wednesday was identified as a 24-year-old man who was reported missing in April, officials said. According to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, the man was identified as Jovon Tyree Brown-Nelson of the 3200 block of East 92nd Street. Nelson was last seen April 9 in the block where he lived, blocks away from where he found in the Calumet River.
