Apple has included support for an electronic SIM (eSIM) standard in its new iOS 12.1 beta; unlike a physical SIM card in a smartphone, it will allow a user to virtually move between cellular carriers at will through the phone's "Settings" function.

One of the things I typically spend time doing after holidays and birthdays is helping family members with new PCs, which invariably these days come with Windows 10. It is arguably one of Apple’s smallest products, but the Apple Watch is also going to have a big impact on several industries, from health to payments and beyond. This is even more apparent with Apple Watch Series 4.

On Thursday, researchers disclosed a vulnerability in Apple's Device Enrollment Program (DEP) that could allow malicious actors to compromise a corporate network. The issue, however, is more a process flaw than a functional weakness in Apple's services, devices or encryption mechanisms. (It exploits the serial number of a corporate device to gain access to a company's mobile device management (MDM) service.)

One of the interesting observations I have is how people lock down on an experience with a vendor and how that perception remains unchanged unless something significant is done to change it. In context, this means that often when I hear someone talk about Microsoft Windows problems and unreliability, they may be talking about anything from Windows 95 to Windows Vista…or whenever they last used the product.

Google will try to tamp down blowback from linking log-ins of its services with Chrome by adding an option to disable the automatic sign-in, the company said Wednesday.

Every organization, big or small, has a hidden asset: Old laptops and desktops that have outlived their usefulness, are too slow for today’s software or use less secure operating systems. Apple's AirPower wireless charger – still a no show

More than a year since it was announced, Apple has still not shipped its AirPower wireless charger – the device designed to charge an iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods ear buds at the same time. In fact, the only place you'll find an image of it on Apple's site is on the AirPods webpage.
