The film featured a brief bedroom scene in which Whiting's buttocks and Hussey's bare breasts were visible, and the actors -- now both in their 70s -- claimed in a lawsuit filed in December that the movie amounted to sexual exploitation. But a judge Thursday granted Paramount's motion to throw out the suit, rejecting its argument that... Читать дальше...

US Supreme Court deals setback to clean water law

France24.com (en)

The nation's highest court ruled in favor of a couple who were stopped by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from building a home near Priest Lake in Idaho because the property abuts federally protected wetlands. The EPA said the Sacketts needed a permit, but the couple's lawyers argued that the 1972 Clean Water Act (CWA) applies only to "traditional navigable waters" and they should be allowed to proceed. The court, in a 5-4 vote, said the CWA only concerns wetlands that are connected to larger bodies of water such as oceans... Читать дальше...

On the other hand, males are not ending their deep sleep sooner: a fact that could soon spell trouble for "date nights," according to a paper published Thursday in the journal Science. Males previously terminated hibernation a month before females... Читать дальше...
