A team from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) interrogated Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren for approximately seven hours at his official residence on Saturday in connection with the Ranchi land scam case amid protests by hundreds of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha workers.

Two colleagues belonging to different religions were assaulted by a gang on Friday evening in Karnataka's Haveri district, marking the third case of moral policing in the region this month, reports Basavaraj Marlihalli. Police responded swiftly and arrested eight suspects linked to the attack. The arrested men have been identified as Abdul Khader Mudgal, Mansoor Tandoor, Mehaboobkhan Badiger, Riaz Halageri, Alwaj Baligar, Abdul Desuru, Mehabub Ali Halageri, and Jahangirsab Kanake.

Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigators reached Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren's residence on Saturday to document his statement regarding an alleged land scam case. Despite having evaded seven previous summonses related to the case since August of the previous year, Soren finally acquiesced to providing his statement at his residence. Notably, Soren, aged 47, had previously undergone nine hours of questioning by the ED in November 2022, pertaining to an illegal mining case.
