On Friday, around two weeks after taking office as Jharkhand's new chief minister, Champai Soren appointed Basant Soren, the incarcerated brother of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, as a minister among seven other MLAs. The new cabinet will consist of 11 ministers, including the CM, with one position left vacant as was the case during the previous Hemant Soren government for future entry.

Dinabandhu Sahoo and his team have designed and deployed artificial reefs to increase fish production, biodiversity, and restore degraded marine ecosystems. Sanjukta Sahoo mentioned that artificial reefs also promote carbon dioxide sequestration and enhance fisheries production. The reefs also provide wave action protection to the Odisha coastline.

The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police has imposed restrictions under CrPC Section 144 across the district in anticipation of the Bharat Bandh called by farmers' unions.
