The hacktivist group Anonymous has begun revealing the names of alleged Ku Klux Klan members, publishing their email addresses, Klan affiliation and phone numbers to Pastebin. Included in the list are nine politicians—four senators and five city mayors—but their association with the KKK is unverified. One mayor has denied any affiliation with the group.

While the Internet was once again awash in what seems like its semimonthly outrage over cellphone footage of a police officer abusing another unarmed person of color, the New York Times published a story that was far more frustrating and scream-about-able. On Sunday, Bishop Michael Curry was installed as the first black leader of the U.S. Episcopal Church. He used the occasion to discuss the need to evangelize across the divides of race, education and wealth, the Associated Press reports.

The U.S. Supreme Court will be looking into racial prejudice in jury selection Monday, with the justices considering a case of a black teenager who was sentenced to death by an all-white jury in Georgia, The Guardian reports. 

The husband of a mayor in Oklahoma thought it would just be a hilarious laugh when he and friends donned white sheets to dress up as the Ku Klux Klan, complete with burning torches. 

President Barack Obama has been tackling criminal-justice reform with a vengeance, and on Monday the president plans to take his efforts a step further, announcing new initiatives to help former offenders successfully reintegrate into society. 

There are two quotes I cling to when it comes to responding to questionable commentary from members of my community. Of course, there is Zora Neale Hurston's notorious declaration, "All my skinfolk ain't kinfolk." There is also my favorite auntie—and, more than likely, yours, too—who always throws out a "This n--ga here" when stupidity greets her. The issue of black participation on trial juries is one with multiple layers of complexity. As a civil rights trial attorney and former criminal prosecutor, I am always disappointed to see the myriad ways in which many in our community attempt to avoid their civic duty of participating in the criminal-justice system as jurors. Even more frustrating are the obstacles that often prevent those of us who are willing to serve from ultimately being selected as fact finders at a trial.
