The government is set to clamp down on import of furniture and certain types of tyres, especially retreaded ones, amid concerns that cheap goods are flooding the market and pushing out domestic manufacturers. ​​​In recent months, the government has stepped up efforts to reduce “non-essential” imports as part of a strategy to boost the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Retired basketball star Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, on Sunday, TMZ reported without citing a source. TMZ said Bryant was traveling with at least three other people in his private helicopter when it went down in Calabasas, about 40 miles (65 km) northwest of Los Angeles. The Los Angeles County Sheriff said on Twitter that five people died in the crash.

China coronavirus spreads before symptoms show
