The Nation's Weather for Monday, May 16, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A storm moving through the eastern Great Lakes Monday will
have a cold front along it to the south through the
Appalachians into the southeast. This will trigger some
strong to severe thunderstorms along it. The greatest risk
for these storms will be in the Middle Atlantic into
southeast New York and southern New England. There could be
gusty winds, drenching rain and even a tornado. Farther
south most storms will produce only heavy rain at times. A
cold front moving through the Northwest will cause a few
showers near the coast with a few thunderstorms farther east
into the northern Rockies. High pressure will build into the
Plains states with more comfortable conditions and a nice
afternoon.
