He won as the chasing pack mistimed their pursuit of a four-man breakaway by less than a second. Asgreen showed his most visible joy when talking of Vingegaard's grace under pressure. Hamilton sorry for sacked De Vries

France24.com (en)

Mercedes’ seven-time world champion was asked if the abrupt dismissal of the 28-year-old Dutchman after finishing last for struggling Alpha Tauri at the British Grand Prix was a reminder of F1’s ruthlessness. In reply, he said: "I would say it’s how Red Bull work." Alpha Tauri is the junior sister team in the Red Bull stable and they promptly offered De Vries’ seat to Red Bull's Australian reserve driver Daniel Ricciardo, who will race for them for the remainder of this season. De Vries was previously a reserve driver at Mercedes. Читать дальше...

"You’ve seen it with other drivers and other teams," he said, referring to the pressure he felt. "They've had difficult periods, but then they don’t have 20 replacements after a session like they do with the Red Bull drivers." After an extended run of five poor qualifying performances... France24.com (en)

Warholm produced one of the most memorable Olympic victories in history when hurdling to gold in Tokyo in a stunning world record of 45.94sec two years ago. To get a better understanding of that performance, just 200 athletes have bettered the time this season over 400m flat. But the former two-time world champion was then beset by a hamstring injury and could only finish seventh at the world championships in Eugene, although he did rebound to win a second European crown in Munich a month later.
