Macron messaging rearming of France by choosing Attal as PM
Gabriel Attal, appointed France's youngest ever prime minister Tuesday at the age of 34, has had a meteoric rise that has invoked comparisons with that of his mentor President Emmanuel Macron. With Attal's appointment, Macron is attempting to send a message of a "reset", a national rejuvenation, notes Paul Smith, professor of French studies at the University of Nottingham.
