Just seen this on TRL. Considering we haven't been in Superleague for a decade now and had 6 less seasons to amass points than some of the lesser clubs below us, it shows you just how good we were to still be 7th in the table. In fact, we'll still be in the top 8 even at the end of the season.

Just watching the highlights and McGowans try from the scrum, I couldn't help notice the quality of Souters pass from the base of the scrum, fast, accurate and in front of Gaskell and it starts the whole move off. Such a change from seasons gone where we've had slow passes from dummy half, behind the player, which just slows the entire attack down.

Think Souter may end up as an 80 minute hooker as the season progresses and maybe only interchange with Flanagan against "lesser teams"

Had chance now to watch quite a few highlights of other championship clubs and they have more than their fair share of quality in their ranks and should provide us with some stiff opposition this season

See another "RL jobs for the boys" man ruining another club.

Sad to see. Widnes have suffered a similar plight to ourselves,
remembered as a huge juggernaut of the past, a club who's size should be strong on the champ, yet is being run into the ground by awful ownership and management.

I think we'll see a hugely determined Saints side and that will be dangerous. The issues for Saints could come via a few injuries, especially in the 1,6 and 7 spots, as well as at prop. If they lost 3 or 4 lads at the same time in those areas there could be real issues but if they have a decent season on the injury front, I think they'll be right in there for the LLS again, as well as the other 2 trophies on offer.

Think O’Connor is the perfect bench player given the current protocols. Could stick him nearly anywhere.

Sangare is unlike our other props. He offers the something different but that should be off the bench.

Ruan and TNW don’t look far, off.

Roberts has also looked good for me this preseason. I think he’s earnt a go before olpherts.

John Bateman is on the last episode of James Graham's podcast. It's a really interesting listen and he talks about his life and playing career.

There is one really interesting bit when he discusses the first admin and the Omar Khan ownership.

Did anyone else feel the Sunday game was a bit surreal. A host of new faces not only in our group to learn but a whole team in the opposition to get our heads around . Now let me point out from the start we are where we are because we deserve to be ,that’s what the rules of the game stipulate , I have no grievance whatsoever on that score and that the bottom club gets relegated . Reliably informed that we have ourselves a new player imminently when all the paper work is processed. But to be honest I think we will get drip fed players over the next 12 months or so as we build a super league competitive squad .
