Decent turnout in the cold for the U16s tonight.

Standouts for me were Dan Stelfox at prop; big lad with great leg drive. Back row of Lloyd, Tinkler and Jacob Hardy all good.

Halves had good craft. Centres also looked ok, Ellis has decent height and could be interesting once he fills out.

Some weak D from some players at times but overall comfortable win with a couple of well taken tries.

The club has just tweeted that the Sheffield game has limited tickets available. I think the ground only has about 2000 capacity, with around 1200 standing tickets.

Moving JWH to centre allows us to bring Keyes back - something I think we must do, but we then also lose our most potential attacking threat, as I don't think Woody would be anything like as effective at centre.Don't think for a second that this would happen but I'd have Keyes and Jouffret in the halves, JWH at fullback and Widdop at loose forward. I would let him go. When you say he’ll be handy for them? Has he been handy for us? he’s been garbage. If we get an injury or suspension in the halfs then we can always use Ratchford or even Powell.

I’ve been watching us for years, and so often it has been “same old, same old”. This feels different. Im not a coach so they’ll be not technical answers.

But it’s there to see that everyone’s game has been simplified. There is a unit work ethic, there are no sheep and no one has a role so large that it cannot be covered by another sufficiently well.

The team is chasing back every defensive play, that didn’t happen before, and working like pack dogs in defence.

No one is bigger than the club.
