Sam B will most likely just bide his time before going back to Aus I think. Also he's a petulant fella when he wants to be, he needs to grow up a bit to be a head coach frankly.
What he does do is inspire the team and clearly drills hard defence into them, as you would expect. You can at least see his influence on them.
Against us, Wire have been the best side I've seen this year so far, I thought they looked very good.
I still don't think the squad we have is quite there.... Читать дальше...

It was obvious they had a ‘profile’ of player what they went for rather than doing proper due diligence on each individual player. They went for young raw players with size for the forwards and speed with Tindall. Even the star signing Brown was a utility player who’s never really established himself in a position, raw ability but not what was needed. Most don’t seem suited for SL or in Browns case the role we wanted him to play.
I fear we’ve just gone the other extreme now with the recruitment... Читать дальше...

Clearly poor recollection on my part, maybe because of the Great Britain tour.
My point still stands that even the top coaches do not guarantee success.

Plenty more to follow including Tom Johnston.
Looking to spend full cap next year and McMeeken only counts for £100k and TJ £50k on the cap.
Trinity won’t be doing a Leigh, but they will build a decent squad over the next few years to be challenging at the top half of the table.
Currently another 8 players or so signed to add to the players they already have at the club for SL like Rodwell, Uele, Walmsley and Vagana.
It’s amazing what a bit of investment can do to a club. Читать дальше...

Yep I knew that but today was the first time I'd seen a picture of him in that shirt! Horrible!
I'm sure that if we sign him our medical team will be able to fully decontaminate him

'above the cap'...'3 marquee players'
None of the marquee players are internationals and all have suffered restricting injuries that often reoccur...'above the cap' having signed, on multi year deals, a 30yr old, 2 x 32yr olds, a 33yr old, a 34yr old, so far, some best described as journeymen, some clearly mercenary, and all on their last payday.
None of whom have the remotest chance of 'success'. Читать дальше...

A good thread this and whilst I quite like the suggested line up and alternatives thus far the term "All Time" can't surely apply to some of those listed.
Subjective I know and the OP's team is decent and age does factor as the game has changed, so not a criticism but without delving really far back (even for me) and picking Risman or Sullivan at FB based on the record books (Wellens pfftt)....then here's a few that must feature or at least be under consideration for my twopenneth.

For us to beat Saints at Saints, we need to score more points than they do. I don't really see that happening because they attack better than we do, and they defend better than we do. We would need at least one of those last statements to change for us to be successful there.
I'm not saying we can't win the game, just that it's very unlikely.

Just a suggestion lads, might be time to have a freshen up guests wise. Great to give fans a platform to voice their opinions but some of them are embarrassing themselves as they clearly know very little about the game and can't back anything up factually.
Like what you guys have created though, hopefully see a little more traction now the clubs heading in the right direction.

Is the tackle by Taufua on Thornley a legal challenge? He doesn't appear to make any attempt to use his arms. Will be interesting to see if the MRP look at it

Good to see a decent away following too for a change.
On the field we did well to make a contest of it for the first 40mins. We fell away in the second period but I think we expected that. It just shows the gap between semi pro and professional. It also makes it pretty stark the gap that we'd have to bridge on the field if we were ever to get back into SL (even though that prospect is unlikely with the ground being how it is). Can't see the club going fully pro unless the ground... Читать дальше...

Watching the game back Doyle really impressed me, he always does but even more so yesterday. Watching the video you can really see how much more direction and quicker we played when he came on in that 2nd half. He's nippy, got a good fast pass off the deck, can see a gap and tackles as all good hookers do above his weight, and did great yesterday as well as the usual suspects that have been mentioned. It's great that we have him and Harry waiting in the wings, both... Читать дальше...
