In some respects I am sorry to see him go, when he was 'on' he was a danger and good on the eye, a crowd pleaser. Unfortunately it would seem, his 'on' moments were too infrequent and insufficient to warrant a decent squad spot. I don't know what kind of money he was on, perhaps this was a deciding factor. We have to start playing our homegrown players at some point.
Otherwise what’s the point in devoting resources to it?
If we’d signed him to the detriment of Lewis Martin, I’d have been gutted.
Losing Abdul and signing Burgess unbalances their squad, but I don’t care about them.
Looking forward to watching the continued development of Martin, Moy, Armstrong, Charles, Medforth , etc, etc.

Burgess is decent but not great, and coming off the back of getting sacked I'm glad we didn't go for him.
Personally I think Lewis Martin is going to be a fantastic winger.

It's the non captive audience though that these kind of games (world club challenge) the likes of the BBC needed to be aiming at, RL fans in general will tune in to watch the game, it's the new and next generation of audiance that the BBC/RFL need to be aiming for.
If the BBC only show adverts for it during a RL related programme then they are preaching to the converted, they need to be advertising this kind of game at peak viewing times like before/after Eastenders or whatever other popular programmes are on the BBC... Читать дальше...

Can't see McGowan being recalled, Giants have plenty of cover there.

Hooker is a worry. If anything happens to Souter then it's Hallas and Flanagan we're going with which will be a disaster.

Some nice worked tries for the wingers on Sunday which is pleasing and shows how we're hoping to play.

Goal-kicking is still a massive concern, we shouldn't be experimenting. Go with Lilley who we know will play every game and let him get as much practice in as possible.
