She-Hulk Is Jaw-Dropping According To Abomination Actor
Hype is growing for Marvel Studios' She-Hulk series, as Abomination actor Tim Roth says the show is jaw-dropping while praising Tatiana Maslany.
Abomination actor Tim Roth says that Marvel Studios' She-Hulk series is jaw-dropping as he praises Tatiana Maslany's lead performance. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is moving into a new era of Hulk stories and characters in Phase 4 thanks to She-Hulk. Tatiana Maslany leads the 2022 MCU Disney+ show as Jennifer Walters, Bruce Banner's cousin and a lawyer who becomes a giant green superhero in her own right. The series was announced in 2019 by Marvel Studios and sees Mark Ruffalo return as Hulk and Tim Roth reprise his role as Emil Blonsky/Abomination.
She-Hulk represents Marvel Studios' first solo project for a Hulk character since 2008's The Incredible Hulk, which starred Edward Norton as the Jade Giant. The shift to focus on Jennifer Walters comes after Avengers: Endgame seemingly wrapped up most of Hulk's stories, as Bruce and Hulk merged to become Smart Hulk and reversed Thanos' snap. Now that She-Hulk is taking center stage, Marvel is also changing the tone of its Hulk storytelling, as She-Hulk has been described as a legal comedy. The series is set to include ten 30-minute episodes in its first season, which will also let Jennifer Walters break the fourth wall for added comedic effect.
Details about She-Hulk have largely been kept under wraps, though, but that isn't stopping one of the stars from praising the series. During an interview with ET Canada, Roth had plenty of praise for the series and his co-stars Tatiana Maslany and Mark Ruffalo. While talking about Maslany's work specifically, Roth said that "She's amazing" before mentioning that her performance has resulted in a "jaw-dropping" show. The Abomination actor went on to explain that this is tied to the former Orphan Black star's comedic ability.
Tatiana Maslany's incredible acting ability is already known by those who have watched her perform before, especially in her Emmy-winning role in Orphan Black. This isn't even the first time her She-Hulk co-stars have praised her work on the MCU Disney+ show. Tim Roth previously referred to Maslany as a "powerhouse" in the series, while Mark Ruffalo mentioned that the series passes the torch from Hulk to She-Hulk. Much like Ruffalo's past performances, Maslany had to film scenes as Jennifer Walters and do motion-capture to bring She-Hulk to life.
So far, Marvel Studios has only given audiences fleeting glimpses at Tatiana Maslany's She-Hulk performance. The only She-Hulk footage released to this point focused on Jennifer Walters, while promotional materials have since revealed Maslany's full She-Hulk look. With the series expected to debut on Disney+ later this year, it will only be a matter of time until Marvel provides a better idea of what She-Hulk contains. This could include teasing fans with Maslany's performance, as well as some of the show's rumored surprises.
