[Women's Golf] Strong Winds Cut Bethany College Classic Short
Newton, Kan.-Lady Warrior golf was scheduled to play two rounds at Sand Creek Station on Monday and Tuesday, but the Kansas wind had another idea. Strong winds on the second day of the Bethany College Classic cut the tournament short just after the midway point of the second round. When a tournament is called in the middle of the round, final scores are taken from those rounds already completed. In this case, it is the Monday round. The course was being played as a 6103 yard, par 72 course for the two-day tournament. After one round of play, Sterling was sitting in fifth place out of eight teams. Kaylea Hein and Paige Barnes shot 13 over on the first day putting them tied for 11th out of 44 golfers in the individual competition.
