90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days star Usman “Sojaboy” Umar claimed TLC edited the Zara conversation and the season 5 star might be right.
Usman “Sojaboy” Umar of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days recently lashed out about TLC editing the Zara conversation in the last episode and there are a couple of clues that Usman might have told the truth. Usman hasn’t had the best of luck with women in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise. His first marriage was with “Baby Girl” Lisa Hamme, a strong-willed woman 18 years his senior. Usman and Lisa appeared on Before the 90 Days season 4, where they married but then divorced after less than a year. Now he’s moved on to his new love interest—Kimberly Menzies. Kimberly also has strong opinions, which sometimes contributes to their turmoil. However, Usman doesn’t always appear to have the best intentions.
After lying to Kimberly for the better part of their time together in Tunisia about his music video “Zara,” 90 Day Fiancé star Usman finally revealed the truth. Zara was a woman he used to date and was in love with, but she couldn’t handle the Nigerian rapper’s fans. Understandably, Kimberly was heartbroken, and wanted a grand gesture from him to prove his dedication to her. However, at the end of season 5, viewers learned Usman contacted Zara during the trip. Usman claimed TLC edited it to make it appear he contacted her after Kimberly went home, which Usman denied, and there are a few reasons why Usman might be right.
According to Usman, the edits made it appear that he contacted Zara close to the end of their trip. However, Usman said the call with Zara actually happened much earlier on their trip, although how much earlier is still unclear. In the last episode, Usman was wearing one outfit when he brought Kimberly to the airport, but wore a different one while talking to Zara. The outfit Usman wore while he spoke to Zara appears to be the same outfit (minus the ‘Sojaboy’ chain) that he wore in episode 12, when he attempted to return the laptop and PlayStation 5 that Kimberly gifted him.
Another clue that hints Usman probably did contact Zara earlier in the trip is the Sojaboy chain itself. In the previous episode of Before the 90 Days Kimberly took back the necklace she gifted him and viewers never saw her return it. In fact, on the way to the airport, Usman still wasn’t wearing the necklace, so there’s no way of knowing if he received it after Kimberly took it back. But when Usman made his call to Zara, the necklace magically reappeared, creating a major timeline discrepancy.
It appears Usman was telling the truth about TLC editing his storyline. However, at the same time, it seems like he contacted Zara after he made his relationship with Kimberly official. Most likely, it happened the same day he told Kimberly about Zara, which elicited their biggest fight and caused him to return his gifts. 90 Day Fiancé stars Kimberly and Usman are still working on their relationship after the Tell-All.
