On the morning of November 21, two journalists from the Lebanese channel  Al Mayadeen – correspondent Farah Omar and cameraman Rabih Me'mari – were killed by an anti-tank missile. After analysing photos and videos that emerged after the incident, a military expert says that the strike came from the Israeli military. A truce between Israel and Hamas in Gaza will start on Friday at 7 a.m. (0500 GMT), with a the first batch of hostages to be released at 4 p.m., a spokesperson for Qatar's foreign ministry said on Thursday. Germany on Thursday said raids were underway in four regions on the homes of members and supporters of Hamas and another Palestinian organisation which are banned in the country.

Families of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza and of Palestinians detained by Israel waited Thursday for at least one more day after a breakthrough four-day truce deal was put on hold. FRANCE 24's Claire Paccalin reports from Tel Aviv, Israel.

Israel has a list of people to be released on Friday under the truce deal and the government said they have spoken to the families of the hostages to be released, explains FRANCE 24’s Irris Makler, reporting from Jerusalem. “It’s a hugely emotional time,” for the families of the hostages held in Gaza since October 7, says Makler.
