The 13 Israeli women and children released from captivity in Gaza are receiving medical care in Israel, says FRANCE 24’s Claire Paccalin, reporting from Tel Aviv. The freed hostages include four children aged nine and under. Israeli social workers say they are in new territory when it comes to providing psychological services to the children, explains Paccalin.

A total of 28 prisoners were released in the occupied West Bank, an AFP correspondent saw, while the other 11 were brought to annexed east Jerusalem, according to the Palestinian Prisoners' Club advocacy group. The brother of an Israeli hostage on Friday called for the release of all Palestinians from Israeli jails in exchange for hostages held in Gaza. "For me, take them all, bring us them all," he said. As the truce deal between Israel and Hamas started Friday, some wonder whether the temporary ceasefire could be prolonged, leading to an end of the war in Gaza. The first batch of hostages including 13 Israelis has arrived in Egypt according to eyewitness accounts from Israeli soldiers, FRANCE 24's correspondent Claire Paccalin said, reporting from Tel Aviv. Meanwhile Palestinians in Gaza breathed a sigh of relief after the temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas began Friday, Paccalin said, adding that Gazans remain cautiously optimistic.

The first batch of hostages freed under the Israel-Hamas truce deal have been handed over to the Red Cross and are on their way to Egypt, a source close to Hamas and Israeli media said on Friday. Meanwhile Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin said 12 Thai hostages were also released on Friday. The freed hostages are expected to be taken to Tel Aviv by air with either helicopters or planes, FRANCE 24's correspondent Irris Makler said.

A convoy consisting of some 85 trucks carrying food, fuel and gas entered Gaza on Friday after a temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas began, FRANCE 24's correspondent Eduard Cousin said, adding that up to 200 trucks are expected to cross over to Gaza on a daily basis.
