Trump's press secretary was once the model on the cover of a Gossip Girl book
Hope Hicks never really expected to be the press secretary for one of the most divisive and controversial presidential candidates that modern American politics has ever seen. Although the 27-year-old is now perched comfortably in Trump Tower as Donald Trump's press secretary, Hicks had humbler beginnings, as detailed in a recent GQ profile: "In Greenwich, Connecticut, as a kid, she was an athlete and a model who — after appearing in a Ralph Lauren ad — told a local magazine she intended to be an actress."
While she never quite made it as an actress, Hicks will still be recognizable to more than just reporters and politicos: Teens might know her as Gossip Girl's Jenny Humphrey. While Hicks eventually left modeling behind and went the PR route, working for Ivanka Trump and later getting roped in by her father Donald, Cosmopolitan confirmed that Hicks appeared as the cover model of the 2005 Gossip Girl spin-off book, The It Girl.
However glitzy Trump Tower may be, this much is for sure: Being Jenny Humphrey is far more enviable than being the person who has to decline to comment to reporters about her boss' thoughts on Mexican judges.
