Zoo officials announced the news on Friday. A little over one year after he was freed from his cage in a criminal act that has yet to be solved, Flaco appears to have collided with an Upper West Side building. Colombia’s government has announced an underwater exploration more than 600 meters deep to investigate and try to raise objects from the mythical galleon San José. The ship sank in the 18th century in the country’s northern Caribbean, and is believed to contain cargo valued at billions of dollars. Kayakers have been paddling in one of the driest places on Earth after a series of storms battered California’s Death Valley and replenished Lake Manly. In the past six months, Death Valley has received more than double its annual rainfall amount, recording more than 4.9 inches compared to a typical year that gets about 2 inches. Landing a spacecraft on the moon has long been a series of hits and misses and now a U.S. company is the first private outfit to achieve a touchdown. Only five countries have done it. Intuitive Machines says its spacecraft landed on the moon Thursday but promptly tipped over on its side. Another U.S. company tried to send a lander to the moon last month, but had to give up because of a fuel leak. Both businesses are part of NASA's effort to support commercial deliveries to the moon.

The National Rifle Association and its longtime former leader have been found liable in a lawsuit centered on the organization’s lavish spending. A New York jury on Friday found that Wayne LaPierre misspent millions of dollars of the group’s money on pricey perks, and it ordered him to repay the group $4,351,231.
