Ahead of UNSC discussions, Pashinyan declares that there is no direct  threat to population of NK and that evacuation should not be `Plan  A`, nor even `Plan B`

ArmInfo. Today in Yevlakh there was a meeting between representatives of Stepanakert and representatives of Baku. An agreement was reached to hold regular meetings. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan announced on the evening of September 21 during a Facebook live broadcast.

As the prime minister pointed out, the partners from Nagorno-Karabakh have not yet released official information about the meeting. "Azerbaijan, at least in its official statement, tried to create the impression that processes are proceeding in a positive direction," he said, noting that this may be due to the upcoming UN discussion on the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh (an urgent meeting of UN Security Council is expected today, ed. note).

At the same time, according to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, "evacuation should not be "Plan A", and nor even "Plan B", but should be "Plan D". Again, Pashinyan emphasized, Yerevan adheres to the point of view that there is no direct threat to the civilian population of NK, especially under the conditions of a truce.

On September 19, at around 13:00, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, declaring the start of "local anti- terrorism measures," began shelling the suburbs of Stepanakert and other cities of Nagorno-Karabakh using artillery and UAVs. Civilian infrastructure came under fire, and civilians were killed, including 13 children.  According to the latest data, the number of people killed as a result of the Azerbaijani shelling was at least 200, and at least 400 people were injured.  On September 20, Stepanakert announced that it had accepted the proposals of the RPC command for a ceasefire. It was noted that "an agreement was reached on the withdrawal of the "remaining units and military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia" from the RPC deployment zone and the disbandment, complete disarmament of the armed formations of the "Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army" and the withdrawal of heavy equipment and weapons from the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh with the aim of their speedy disposal.
