Forecast: If we do nothing ourselves, the agreement with the EU will not give us anything
ArmInfo. If we do nothing ourselves, the agreement with the EU will not give us anything, - the head of the analytical center "Alternative" Tatul Manaseryan is convinced.
On November 24, Armenia signed the Agreement on Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership with the EU on the margins of the Eastern Partnership Summit in Brussels. Signatures under the agreement in the presence of RA President Serzh Sargsyan and the chairman of the European Council Donald Tusk were put by the RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and the head of European diplomacy Federic Mogerini.
"In the same Europe, in the same EU, there are many examples of both correct and incorrect use of the opportunities and rules of the game of the all-European market, therefore everything depends primarily on ourselves, since the consideration of the agreement signed in Brussels as a panacea for the decisive problem of Armenia is erroneous Such an attitude can not lead to anything tangible, "the analyst is convinced. Meanwhile, according to his forecasts, the signing of the Agreement with the European Union for Armenia is an excellent opportunity to deepen and really fill the existing cooperation. According to Manaseryan, the Agreement institutionalizes and consolidates the already existing trade privileges and preferences of Armenia in relations with the EU.
The agreement on a comprehensive and expanded partnership has already become public. The accent in the extensive 357-page document is put on the affirmation of justice, freedom, security in Armenia; reforming the Constitution and the judiciary; observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms, etc. All this is provided that the European Union participates in financing various projects in Armenia.
