Federal officials have cleared the way for Florida to begin importing cheaper prescription drugs from Canada. It’s the first time any U.S. state has used the approach and follows years of frustration with U.S. drug prices. Florida Gov. A new online application designed to make applying for federal student aid easier went live this week, but not everyone has been able to access it. That’s led to worry and frustration for some students and parents. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid typically opens at the beginning of October, but it was delayed three months due to the relaunch. New York City subway service was disrupted for a second day as transit workers labored to remove two trains that collided and derailed. The crash happened at about 3 p.m. Thursday when a northbound 1 train carrying about 300 passengers was switching from the express track to the local track at the 96th Street station on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Indian navy commandos have safely evacuated 21 crew members from a Liberian-flagged bulk carrier involved in a hijacking attempt in the Arabian Sea.
