McDonald’s CEO will become chairman of the company’s board later this spring, the company said Tuesday. Chris Kempczinksi, who was named McDonald’s president and CEO in late 2019, will succeed McDonald’s Chairman Enrique Hernandez Jr., who is retiring after 28 years on the company’s board. The transition will happen at the company’s annual meeting, which is expected to be held in May. Historically, McDonald’s CEOs have also held the position of chairman. UnitedHealth Group is testing software for submitting medical claims as it continues to recover from a cyberattack that disrupted care billing systems. The health care giant hasn’t set a time frame for when it expects to complete the recovery from the attack last month on its Change Healthcare business. But a spokesman says medical claims software is the last major system the company must restore. Change Healthcare provides technology used to submit and process insurance claims. Japan's central bank has raised its benchmark interest rate for the first time in 17 years, ending a longstanding policy of negative rates meant to boost the economy. The short-term rate was raised to a range of 0 to 0.1% from minus 0.1% at a policy meeting that confirmed expectations of a shift away from ultra-lax monetary policy.
